Hans Malgapu
Hans Lawrence V. Malgapu earned his BA-Journalism degree at the University of Santo Tomas (2009-2015). His poems appeared in various literary folios and poetry anthologies including Verses Typhoon Yolanda: A Storm of Filipino Poets (Meritage Press, 2014), Dapitan Folios (2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 issues), and the Montage folio (The Varsitarian), to mention some.
He was a writing fellow of the following workshops: 2013 Varsitarian Creative Writing Workshop, 2015 UST-CCWLS Undergraduate Workshop, and the UST-CCWLS National Writers Workshop in 2018. In 2022, he self-published his first poetry book, Humanity in Predicaments.
In December 2021, his photographs were included in the official UST Calendar for 2022. His photographs were a part of Born in Film’s photo wall in Ortigas Art Festival, both in 2021 and in 2022.
He currently works at the UST Communications Bureau as its staff writer and photographer.
Outside office hours, he’s a cat that is presently interested in snapping photos of liminal spaces, heritage sites, and other significant edifices that demonstrate the beauty and power of architecture.
