Patrick Mateo

His first encounter with cameras was through his father, who was an avid hobbyist. It was not until his college days, while taking up Industrial Design, that had him taking basic photography class & triggered his interest in photography. After which he decided to further his knowledge by undergoing apprenticeships under Emilio Esguerra and the late Raymund Isaac.

An editorial and corporate photographer with assignments ranging from portraits, products, food & interiors by profession, he unwinds by surfing & enjoying other outdoor sports. It was through surfing, a sport that he has been enjoying the last 20 years, that lead him to his on-going project of surfer portraits & documenting the Philippine surf culture. He hopes to exhibit these photos or turn it into a book someday.
