Late into the evening of Holy Thursday, a friend and I arrive to pick up a friend for our planned, but crammed, Visita Iglesia. The latter had a Pabasa ng Pasyong Mahal going on in his ancestral house in Barangay Santo Niño, Marikina. The reading began earlier in the evening. Our friend is one of the main caretakers of the life-size Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary seen in the picture; the images are part of the tableau of The Miracle at the Wedding at Cana brought out in procession every Holy Wednesday and Good Friday. This year, only a Pabasa was their cause for Holy Week preparations. I told my friend beforehand that I wanted to see their Pabasa. I wanted to document it as part of keeping track of Holy Week practices this year.
